The museum will also host an open house during the day beginning at 9:00 a.m. that will last through the evening event. Organizer Andrew Yarbrough said, “This is a moment when the people of northeast Louisiana get to show their true compassion and remembrance for the 2,966 souls who were lost and the over 6,000 people who were wounded. The solemn date of September 11th, 2011 must always be remembered in the hearts of Americans.” Texas Roadhouse will have treats for attendees. Our H.O.M.E. is an organization that exists to support veterans and their families. The organization’s goals include reducing the number of homeless veterans and veterans not seeking treatment, in addition to increasing employment among veterans, and giving hope to disabled veterans. The Chennault Aviation and Military Museum honors veterans and patriotism, and spans all wars from WWI through Iraqi Freedom. Northeast Louisiana’s important role in aviation and military history is also showcased. The museum is open Tuesday through Saturday 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Admission to the museum is free, but the organization operates on donations and membership funding.
