Our friends at Ouachita River Blues Society are coordinating this Juke-Joint inspired all-star jam with some of NELA's most talented blues musicians. Artists such as Dave P. Moore, D.K. Harrell, Ira Barger, Toby Traylor, and surprise special guests will take the Alley Park stage for a thrilling show with unforgettable moments of soul-stirring musicianship.
Thanks to the wonderful sponsors and grant funders for making this show possible: New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Foundation, Creed & Creed Law Offices, Homeland Bank, City of West Monroe.
This show is being made possible in part by grant funding by the Lower Mississippi Delta Initiative, a program administered by the National Park Service and Jefferson National Parks Association. As a result of this grant, four 2023 Ouachita Live shows will have a focus on Blues from the Delta. We will also be hosting blues music education activities later this year.
We’re excited to present this show to celebrate a true American art form that was born in the Delta and has since become the foundation for much of today’s popular music. This timeless but ever-evolving art form provides a symbolic snapshot of the Delta and a wonderful opportunity for music education and live performances.
Ouachita Live is a monthly concert series which takes place the last Friday of the month from Mar-Oct from 7-9pm in Alley Park. A food truck and spirits will be on-site. Bring a chair. Follow Ouachita Live’s Facebook for detailed artist info and potential rain locations. Free and open to all!
