“Out to Lunch” at the Biedenharn

featuring Blue Taco Food Truck and Mardi Gras Exhibit

The Biedenharn Museum and Blue Taco Food Truck are teaming up for January’s “Out to Lunch” from 11:00 - 2:00, Wednesday, January 25. The Blue Taco Truck will be parked along Riverside Drive directly across from the Garden Entrance at 2006 Riverside Drive. Hungry guests can enjoy a variety of entrées such as the 3 Amigos, Mexican street fries, loaded nachos, tacos, quesadillas, Elote (Mexican Street Corn), and chips with guacamole, salsa, or queso.

For an additional $4.00, guests can enjoy their meal at tables and benches throughout the garden. This includes a self-guided tour of the Mardi Gras Gown Exhibit in Biedenharn Home, the Bible Museum, and Elsong Gardens.

A highlight of these tours is the Annual Mardi Gras Gown exhibit. The display includes gowns and outfits worn by Queens and Kings from the Krewe of Janus over the past forty years. New this year are Mardi Gras posters which depict the annual theme for the parade. Additionally, the Bible Museum features Acts of Faith, Forward Together: Selections from the Collection of Will and Cheryl Sutton, an African American Spiritual Art exhibit.

“Out to Lunch” is the brainchild of Biedenharn Horticulturist Frances Hutson, “Louisiana winters have some remarkably mild days and we hope it works out that people can grab a bite, enjoy lunch in the garden and then tour some of our incredible exhibits.”

The Mardi Gras Exhibit is a Monroe Museums Month featured event. Monroe Museums Month celebrates the cultural, scientific, and artistic importance of the ten museums located within Monroe’s City Limits.
