“SO YOU WANT TO START A BUSINESS DOWNTOWN…”
The Main Street Director for downtown West Monroe, Adrienne LaFrance-Wells, will cover the details of opening a business in downtown West Monroe for the upcoming Small Business Academy on Wednesday, August 4th at 8:30 a.m. at Kayla’s Kitchen. Light breakfast will be provided.
The informative session will highlight the following:
- The benefits of being located downtown
- An overview of the Louisiana Main Street program
- Incentives for historic building improvements
- Unique downtown zoning
- Preserving the historic character of the Cotton Port Historic District
LaFrance-Wells hopes the session will encourage people to consider locating their businesses in downtown.
“I get frequent inquiries from business owners wanting to be part of our historic downtown. If you’ve ever considered the possibility of locating a business downtown, this is your chance to learn about that process. There’s a reason why we are the heart of the small business community. Our merchants are key to preserving the historic character and the pedestrian shopping activity that make the district unique. I invite young entrepreneurs and business owners to come learn about what makes downtown special and how they can possibly join our merchant family.”
