Bernice, Louisiana's Robert "Slim" Finley is a singer/songwriter and guitarist delivering traditional blues and soul music with elements of R&B and gospel. The son of a sharecropper honed his performance skills as a bandleader and musician in the U.S. Army when he was 17, but his major musical success came later in life when Finley, “the greatest living soul singer,” in a bizarre twist, found success after 67 years of hard work. Finley calls Winnsboro, Louisiana, home, but has been touring the US multiple since 2018 and has recently returned home from his European tour. His tales of pain and joy uplift as Finley reflects on his belief that you are never too young to dream and never too old to live.
