KTVE/KARD won 4 awards at the Louisiana Association of Broadcasters’ Prestige Awards. The annual awards show showcases the best in broadcasting from tv and radio stations across the state. Each award is separated into large and small market categories.

For the second year in a row, Chief Meteorologist Jarod Floyd won for Best Weathercast. This is the third time in four years that Jarod has been recognized as the best in the state. NBC10 News Today and FOX14 Your Morning News anchor Rickenzie Johnikin was also recognized as Multimedia Journalist of the Year.

KTVE/KARD also won the Uniquely Louisiana Award for the Destination Louisiane series, showcasing interesting places to visit in the area, and Promotion of the Year for “Your Arklamiss Weather Source”, an ad that shows two dogs getting upset at their owner for trying to turn off Jarod’s weathercast.

KTVE/KARD is proud of these accomplishments and is dedicated to providing viewers with great local news stories and accurate and reliable weather forecasting, boosted by having the only truly live doppler radar in the area.

The Louisiana Association of Broadcasters was established in 1947 and is the only statewide organization whose sole mission is to promote the interests of Louisiana’s broadcast industry. The annual Prestige Awards are judged by broadcasters in other states, with no ties to Louisiana or its tv and radio stations. Providing fair and unbiased judging.
