West Monroe-West Ouachita Chamber, United Way NELA collaborate for Virtual 211 Day

The West Monroe-West Ouachita Chamber of Commerce and United Way of Northeast Louisiana will collaborate to host 211 Day, a virtual event aimed at bringing awareness to the free service that 211 provides to the community. This virtual event is open to the public and will be livestreamed on Facebook at @WestMonroeChamber (Click Here for Facebook Account) on Thursday, February 11th at 12:00 p.m.   Or click here for video via YouTube

“We are pleased to highlight 211 as an essential service provided by the United Way of Northeast Louisiana,” said Lila Strode, President of the West Monroe-West Ouachita Chamber of Commerce. “It’s also important to recognize 211 and United Way NELA employees and commend them for their dedication to the citizens of Northeast Louisiana.”

The purpose of this virtual 211 Day is to showcase United Way of Northeast Louisiana 211 as a convenient, community connection to information and resource providers. 211’s trained, experienced staff is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year… including holidays. 211 serves people in crisis or those needing help or information. By dialing 211, anyone in the community can reach a caring and knowledgeable specialist who can provide assistance or information about where to access community resources.

“We were so appreciative when the West Monroe-West Ouachita Chamber reached out to us to bring community attention to United Way NELA 211. We hope that this live event will provide a better understanding of the role that 211 plays during times of disaster, as well as the information and resources this service provides to individuals every single day,” said Janet Durden, United Way of Northeast Louisiana President.
